samantha has volunteered as editor-in-chief for model united nations, judge for the made in blog awards, and member of uli toronto’s communication committee. for three years she volunteered as a literacy tutor for west neighbourhood house before founding proactive citizen, a media literacy and civic action project with 30+ journalist, researcher, artist, and student contributors. currently, she is a member of cira and techto.
corporate governance
samantha was elected to the board of directors at the canadian internet registration authority (cira) in 2021, serving on the governance, fair (finance, accounting, investment, and risk), and community investment committees. she was twice appointed to co-chair community investment and obtained her icd-gep certification in 2023. currently, she continues education through the institute of corporate directors.
