inspired by the pressure between preserving and pioneering, year-three mural is an exploration in building. drawn by livio lostracco, year-three mural is an evolution of story with room for iteration. for greater inspiration, higher sensitivity, deeper reverence.
but not perfection. year-three mural is awareness of what’s worthwhile requiring practice and persistence, and acceptance of perfection as an illusion. to build is to be building. inspired by the stories we tell in society, our circles, and ourselves, year-two mural is an exploration in breaking free. designed by painter julia monson, year-two mural is a reflection of connecting to what’s inside for clarity on existing beyond it.
panel one is stagnancy. remnants of abundant life. animals not all likeable by convention but equally valuable for harmony in our habitats. panel two is action. the messy stuff. the parts of transformation we escape from by moving through them completely. panel three is regeneration. re-emergence of complex life. arriving to transformation's end and the beginning of what’s next. inspired by the experience of life through filters, year-one mural is an exploration in expression. (and time stamp to mark one year of ventres.ca!) made for instagram, a place for putting our most polished faces forward, this three-panel experiment is a playful poke-fun at this norm.
designed by muralist pam lostracco, year-one mural is, pokes aside, an expression of individuality otherwise unseen. to show a piece of our deeper realer side is to invite others curious to give it a try. |
